What could be better than that? Great views you can’t get enough of, the refreshing wind to cool you down and good drinks to boot? Exactly, almost nothing. So whether for the die-hard city dweller or the next spontaneous summer city trip – rooftop bars always go!
Frankfurt:
Oosten; Long Island Summer Lounge; 25 hours by levi’s
Frankfurt mit seiner Skyscraper Skyline ist der perfekte Ort für Rooftop Bars. Deswegen gibt es auch einige, die es fast mit Städten wie New York aufnehmen können. Hier wäre definitiv die Long Island Summer Lounge zu nennen, mit der atemberaubenden Sicht auf besagte Skyline.
If you prefer something a little more relaxed, go to Oosten: an alternative bar with a minimalist interior and an old crane that provides a very special flair! Definitely a must-go!
Berlin:
Klunkerkranich; Monkey Bar; Weekend; The Rooftop Terrace
Berlin, as the party metropolis of Germany, naturally also has some rooftop greats to offer.
For those who like it more casual, Klunkerkranich in Neukölln is the perfect place. Hidden on the roof of the Neukölln Arcaden car park, only those who are looking for it will find it. With lots of wood, a chillout area of superlatives was created! Great view of the Berlin skyline, great drinks and great music. Exactly, it doesn’t get any better than this. Tip: Also recommended in winter, as you can enjoy the city lights with your own Christmas market and mulled wine on the roof.
If you prefer something a little more chic but still stylish, go to the Monkey Bar above Bikini Berlin. A wacky interior, great drinks and a view directly into the monkey enclosure of Berlin Zoo (from where the bar gets its name).
Another alternative, which is already quite famous, is the roof garden of the House of Weekend with a direct view of the TV tower and Alexanderplatz. Greats like Lenny Kravitz have already celebrated here. At night, the roof terrace is transformed into a club with techno that is absolutely worth listening to.
Hamburg:
Campari Lounge; the Cloud; sky and sand; High End
Hamburg – the city of ships, bridges and the harbour. So where better to spend your day than with a view of the water? So let’s head to the Campari Lounge to enjoy a beautiful Nordic sunset with perfect drinks.
Cloud’s Heaven’s Nest Bar has opened on the 24th floor of the dancing towers in Hamburg. And the name pretty much sums it up; high above the rooftops of St. Pauli, you really do feel like you’re in a nest in heaven. The view into the distance is outstanding and the ambience, with lounge furniture and four-poster beds, can only be described as stylish.
München:
Flushing Meadows; China Moon Roof Terrace; Emiko Roof Terrace; Blue Spa Bar; Café Vorhoelzer
Munich can do more than just Oktoberfest. Most people know that. But if you don’t believe it, you really need to check out rooftop bars like Cafe Vorhölzer on the roof of the Technical University of Munich. Here you can sit in a relaxed atmosphere with the best view of Munich.
You like it fancier? Of course Munich has that too: Try the China Moon Roof Terrace on the roof of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Exceptionally great view, great food and drinks, but not so much for the small purse. Still, it’s well worth it.
Köln:

There are many ways to spend a relaxing day in Cologne. Few, however, are as great as the sunshine days. This rooftop beach bar makes hearts fly higher. A view of the cathedral, deckchairs and sand between your toes – you can’t get more summer feeling than that.
Düsseldorf:
Pebble’s Bar; The View
Many people don’t have Düsseldorf on their radar. Which means they miss out on one of the most interesting cities in Germany. For example, Düsseldorf has great architecture, which you can enjoy at Pebble’s Bar. Either chilling on the stairs or at the bar – there’s something for everyone here.
Stuttgart:

The Sky Bar Beach is particularly worth mentioning here. Sand, summer feeling and four-poster beds to relax and laze on, what could be better?
Bielefeld:
Santa Maria
